They're well featured, reliable and all but the low end models are typically more economical than colour laser printing. 

Printers that use large capacity ink cartridges could soon make up for the extra investment due to your savings on running costs.

Also be aware that inkjet printers need to remain switched on at all times so they can run maintenance cycles. Laser printers are fine to leave unplugged for extended periods of time. Not so with inkjet printers, because the printhead tends to clog with dried ink.
