Some dealers and repair organisations try to scare users into rejecting compatibles with threats of voided warranties. Never mind that a warranty can't be refused due to the use of competitive cartridges. Unless of course there's evidence the cartridge caused the fault (in which case we'd repair the printer or if necessary replace the machine at no cost to the customer).
Original Canon cartridges can fail just the same as compatibles can. When an original cartridge fails it has to be returned to the supplier and they decide after testing whether to replace it or not. As a dealer it can take weeks before we know the answer. It makes it hard to give the kind of service and support we like to give our customers.
Our warranty is simple: if you're not entirely satisfied with a compatible cartridge we've supplied within the last 12 months we'll immediately send you a replacement. Or if you prefer we'll give your money back. You decide whether the cartridge performed acceptably - not us.
Due to tight margins we can't offer the same service and support with genuine Canon cartridges. That's one reason we've taken original cartridges off our catalog for now.
Another reason is that compatible Canon laser and ink jet cartridges are simply better value for money. We like to help people reduce their running costs. The compatibles we supply are just as good both in print quality and life expectancy.
